Several municipalities in Italy have already opted for Plastic and Smoke free decrees.

Given the recent approval of the European directive banning single-use plastic, many municipalities have chosen to fight against pollution while preserving the beauty of their coasts. In fact, there are numerous ordinances that have banned plastic on beaches and in bathing establishments.

Not only the ban on plastic but also for smoking. 21 municipalities have banned cigarettes on the beaches. Salty fines for those who will be caught violating the rules: administrative penalties from a minimum of 25 euros to a maximum of 500 euros.

The list of municipalities that have said no to pollution is certainly destined to lengthen during the holidays.
