The benefit directed to the recycling in Italy have exeeded an economic value of a Euro billion. This is what is stated from the Green Economy Report presented to conai, the national consortium for packaging. The economic value of the material recovered thanks to recycling is 402 eur billion. 27 Euro billion has been produced from energetic recovery. We should consider for example that in year 2019 the saving of virgin raw material as been equal to the weight of 440 Eiffel tower: 4 billions and 469 thousand tons; 270 thousand tons of steel, equal to those used for 702 High speed trains; 433 thousand tonnes of plastic, equal to 9  billion of PET bottle for 1 lt detergents. Thanks to this it was possible to avoid the atmospheric release of more than 4 billion and 3 thousand tonnes of CO2. The president Luca Ruini has been satisfied: “These numbers make you think”, as often recalled Italy in Europe is second only to Germany for Pro-capite recycling of packaging waste. We have already reached the European goal for recycling required within 2025 and our Country System continues to set a trend in Europe.
