Industries and Italian research institutes among the main innovators in Europe in terms of plastic recycling and bioplastic development.
With the 9% of international patent applications submitted between 2010 and 2019 Italy is on the 4th step of the European podium for the recycling technology and at the third place for the bioplastics.

This is included in the report “patent for the bioplastics of tomorrow: the global innovation trend of recycling, the circular design and the alternative energy sources” pubblished by the European patent office.
