Interceptor, the boat that cleans up the sea from plastic

Its name is interceptor and it is a boat designed to fight river and ocean’s pollution. The idea is by a joung Dutch engineer, Boyan Slat, founder of the project “Ocean clean up” connected to the ambitious goal to clean up the pacific ocean from plastic. Boyan’s starting concept is that the 80% of abandoned plastic goes to the sea from the rivers. The boat will sail the river to stop plastic from the beginning and collecting tens of tons of daily plastic garbage. The boat is powered by sun energy and will be tested in the very polluted Malaisian rivers.
