Current news: Single-use plastic directive

The National Association of Plastic Recyclers and Regenerators has commented on the text of the agreement between the European Commission, Parliament and the Council on the proposal for a directive on reducing the environmental impact of single-use plastics.
The main objective of the directive is to counter the dispersion of plastic products and packaging waste into the environment through the prohibition or reduction of all those disposable products. The innovation of the directive for Assorimap is certainly the important increase in the objectives of separate waste collection for recycling, a long-awaited measure supported by the association.

In addition, for the president of the association, it is suitable the obligation – contained in the directive – to design new bottle up to 3 liters content a minimum of 25% recycled PET by 2025 and 30% by 2030 .
