Eating plastic seabin
The challenge is ambitious: to collect the plastic garbage floating on the seas all over the world.
To date 450 eating plastic seabin are operating. three have been installed in italy.
The seabin is a basket for the collection of garbage that can capture 1.5kg of garbage each day, that is half tonn per year, including microplastics. the seabin can work 24 hours a day and seven days out of seven.
The basket has been immerged into water and fixed to a pier, thanks to the stream and wind action the debris flow directly in the collect basket while water flows throw the pump and goes back to the sea. the equipment seems to be very effective in the ports where the majority of waste flows.
