The International Report on Circular Economy in italy has been pubblished
Italy is the first in the ranking for circularity index, the the value has been attributed based on the efficient use of resources in five categories: production, consumption, waste management, raw material and second material market, investments and occupation. This is what is issued from the national report on Circular Economy made by CEN in cooperation with ENEA. This year the report focuses on bioeconomy and on its rules in the climate crisis context. Bioeconomy is a main dowel in the safeguard of natural resources. To be circular and sustainable, bioeconomy has to be regenerative: it is necessary to use natural resources with compatible mode with their resilience and contribute to their renovability, mantaining the soil fertility in time and all other ecological conditions that allow regeneration. Edo Ronchi (Cen’ s president) says: Today we record slow down signs, even previous to coronavirus, while other countries have started running: in Italy the occupaied in Circular economy between 2008 and 2017 have decreased of 1%. It seems a paradox that our Country cannot increase these numbers, now that Europe has issued the measures for the development of circular economy.
Roberto Morabito, ENEA Director, underlines a worsening: “We are dangerously slow downand if we contiune on this way we risk to be overcome from the other countries, that meanwhile are accelerating. It is necessary a sistemic intervention with the realisation of new infrastructures and installation, with more investments on innovation and above all with effective governance instruments, as the Agency for circular economy.
