Slight increase in prices for flexible packaging

The Flexible Packaging Europe (FPE) Association has published data for 2024 regarding the price trends of the main raw materials and semi-finished products used in flexible packaging.
The picture is uneven in terms of materials, with, all in all, modest increases over the year (with some exceptions), which are, however, at higher levels than the benchmark set in the fourth quarter of 2020. During 2024, the costs of 15-micron HDPE and BOPA films remained virtually stable, 7-micron aluminium foil increased by +4%, while 60-micron glossy single-coated paper increased by +15%.
The 12-micron PET film increased by 9%, while LDPE increased by 19%. Finally, the 20-micron BOPP film showed only a slight increase over the year (+3%)
